In my opinion modern rock isn’t better or worse. It’s just different.

I can understand what he thinks, as there was less digital intervention back then. A lot less manipulation of sounds to get it just right. And if you were a bad singer, not much could save you…

Now once the tracks are done, post cleans up a lot of what we may think of as unpolished or rough, or that edge, making it different than it would have been in the past. And auto tuning the bad singers, heck even I could sound good… lol…

Thanks for sharing. Personally, I think he has a point. I’m not saying there aren’t any good bands now, but it’s not the same as it was back in the day.

MTV, Commercialization, Auto Tune, etc. It’s just not the same.
