Get the most out of your old laptop by turning it into a Chromebook

Or you can boot it with a Linux distribution (which are much lighter OS’ then windows), like Mint OS.

I gave away my old laptop to daughter’s friend at school with Chrome OS they use it for School apps. Mint OS is good for us, but kids in school use Mac or Chrome…

Depends on what you use the old laptop for.
if @Shenoy uses it for his daughter’s friend (schoolwork) so ANDROID is perfect.
Otherwise LINUX is OK.

But its always great to use old hardware instead of buying new “garbage”

Kids at school nowadays dont know how to use windows, they only know chrome (majority) or Mac… And all apps are on the browser…

So may be worth to convert old unused laptop to chromebook

Yes I did’nt think about that argument.
Mostly Android on their mobile devices.

I remember when my kids were in school they got some WIN PCs there
They had to use Word, Excel etc.
But I showed them how to use OPEN-Office (libre-office), which got the same features.
So they got in touch with LINUX and know it well.
Now they use Mac-books! :joy:

Nice article @Shenoy I am going to do the same, my daughters school is starting online next week, but I may give it a try with windows OS, if any issues then will get it on Chrome OS.

WIN10 steals such a lot of disc and memory space so it is not usable on old devices.
Solution! Buy a new one, buy more garbage! :rage:

Dont do that.
Try those other OS being offered, there are so many!
If getting some probs, tell us.

My laptop is glued at one side.
But it works.

This is my working station.
Beer is necessary to clean the naso-pharyngeal tract (great expression I found)
better mouth-nose-jaw part.
This is the newest advice to avoid infection.
I’m still testing which is the best
“Weißbier”, “Helles” “Dunkles”.

I would generally stick with a cup of freshly roasted coffee, but other then that it looks pretty good .

I’ve never really liked the taste of alcohol.

Beer is not Schnapps.
Its foodstuff.
coffee is great in the morning to wake up.
Beer is great to calm down in the evening.
This is a photo from the late part of a really hard working day here!

If I were to drink alcohol, I am far more likely to drink a fine wine.

But I generally cook with wine over drinking it

Looks a neat setup, the beer is more visible than you laptop screen

Oh ja.
Red wine for sauces.
I give you another hint:
Take sherry or portwine to give dishes a final touch.
(beer can be used for cooking as well: added to the sauce of roasted pork!)
