I was similar. I was not sure if a new category for “on ear” was needed or if over ear was sufficient.

A conclusion should not be formed from just 2 reviews obviously. But.
Seems the issue is premise of when its not inside/covering your ears, then in a quiet place everyone can hear you but in a noisy place you can’t hear them, so bone conduction wins in both. I tried bone conduction once, I immediately hated and didn’t keep them.
I have tried biking using a speaker and it’s the same issue - in quiet places everyone hears me, in noisy places I can’t hear the speaker.
