Me too so I can not use such in ears.
Of course the reason is not the earbuds its the ears.

Not unusual, we’re all different, return them and try another.

We have different ear canal shapes.

I’ve tried all of these eartips (I specified large size because if they work with the case, the smaller versions will too): Spinfit 360 Larges–they fit the buds and the case–I didn’t care much for the sound unless I barely put the tips into my ears. Either return them or try different Ear-tips.

try different tips and wings combinations until you have a fit thats comfortable for you, as someone who has strange ear canals I have problems with all earbuds the various tip and wing combos with the l3p I find it helps me , hopefully it will help you as well

Everyone is different, but I have to say that after some trial and error, I am now happy with the correct combination of tips and wings on my L3Ps. They are easily the most comfortable, and best sounding, earbuds I have ever worn.

As stated I would go a size smaller on the wings and see if it gives the same pain and smaller if started with the largest ones first. It is the wings that are probably giving the issue

As states to each their own device issues. My brother has issues with earbuds hurting and I have issues with on ear headphones.

At least sons get benefits for when I forget it.

It can happen that none of the tips are fitting perfectly.
This my case.
I tried all, was playing around a lot.
Nothing was good at last.
I tried over ears, these are better, but not comfortable for me.

I am a person who is not made for those ear buds.
So I use others, when travelling.
(My old Ipod hasn’t any bt connections, so this is the best I can do)

Meanwhile these models are not easy to be found, so I stored some.
(earbud prepper!)

Now I see I bought these in 2017.

The general trend is towards smaller, so should get more comfortable, if it’s an issue now I’d return them and wait for a future product to be smaller and more comfy.
