I absolutely love this track. Thank you for posting this.
Do you have another idea regarding such a one night (sic) wonder?
I’ll have a think and see if I can remember any that are worth posting.
My wife keeps reminding me that this was number one in the “Hit Parade” in the UK when she was born.
Here’s a couple:
I know another one no one might know!
the lyrics are the best.
What a deep content!
Excellent tune. I have that in my library!
Here’s a couple:
A-ha, Soft Cell and Katrina & The Waves had more than one hit in their careers

Prophetic.
I wonder if it’s ever occurred to someone here that the answer might be different depending on what part of the world you are from? It also might depend on one’s definition of a hit?
All that being said, now that the One Hit Wonder Police have spoken up I humbly beg his forgiveness.
In the USA, a-ha only had one top 10 hit, Soft Cell only ever got to 17 so hardly a hit, and Katrina and the waves made number 9 and the next best never went above mid thirty on the charts so actually they are all considered one hit wonders in the USA according to billboard history. Perhaps in Europe they did better. Also just checked on The Archie’s and also just one hit wonder. I do get that music is subjective and each country has there own charts which is very clear when down with the sickness, or the vengeful one did not make number 1.
Is this really “music”. I doubt"
Joe Dolce – ‘Shaddap You Face’
This song kept Ultravox – Vienna from hitting the top spot in the UK>

Lest make a trip to classical music.
Max Bruch
He is known by his wonderful violin concerto only, though he composed other great works
Such a wonderful piece of music.
I can hear it every day.
Hilary is so great!
Such a power!
And Andrés Orozco-Estrada is a “powerful” conductor as well!
This one comes to mind
That’s true,
His opera Cavalleria Rusticana was “his hit”.
and this intermezze is the the piece which is best known.
Mascagni composed a lot of operas, but these are forgotten.
I am sure nobody knows Franz Schmidt.
But his “intermezzo” is well known.
