I have a 150 watt JBL subwoofer that I bought in 94. Best purchase ever it had outlasted other systems I have since bought. The bar still drops and takes the house. It’s av smile on my face when I get to’turn it up!’

150 W is a real killer! I bet that really brings the house down

I pity the neighbors with music played on that kind of a speaker

You would be surprised, i use to have an old school subwoofer in a channelled box that basically amplified the sound. So even though it was rated at 150 watts, it sounded more like 1000…also given its db rating was 108 so that helped as well.

When i got to high school i hooked this up in my car and was jamming away until i blew it. Then everything else just didnt compare

Room placement of the speakers and the room design is huge too. Dad talked about an audio class in college where the professor put a speaker in the middle of the room, and then against a wall, and it sounded twice as loud in the same room.

That is what I always tell here like a prayer mill.
Change the position of speakers a lot and find the best place.
Sometimes it seems the speaker is totally another.
